Should your child need specialty care, Dr. Bowker, Dr. Thapa, or Dr. Read will coordinate care with specialists affiliated with Seattle Children's Hospital. Because our physicians do not have hospital privileges, initial newborn exams are typically done by the hospital pediatrician or midwife, in the case of a home or birth-center birth. Expectant parents wishing to establish care for their baby with any of these physicians, should schedule a meet & greet appointment prior to the baby's birth and plan to schedule a first office visit when the baby is 10-14 days old. More and more parents are turning to acupuncture for their children because it offers a safe, natural and effective approach to pediatric care.
Acupuncture focuses on treating symptoms by stimulating healing and restoring the body’s own ability to heal. For those kids who are afraid of needles, modern acupuncture treatments are done using painless acupuncture and non-needle techniques, so treatments are always easy and painless.
Acupuncture offers not only individualized treatment plans, but also a less invasive therapeutic technique than western medications with no unwanted side effects. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can be safely performed on children as young as 6 months old.
Kids get Acupuncture for a number of conditions, for complete list and additional information about the visit, see Dr. Read's website at www.dynamicnaturalmedicine.com
